Le coude de raccordement Maestrini est fabriqué en laiton résistant à la dézincification (DZR), également connu sous le nom de laiton CR, qui signifie résistant à la corrosion. Ce matériau est un alliage de laiton qui empêche la corrosion, causée par la perte de zinc dans le raccord, ce qui le rend apte à être exposé à l’eau de mer. Un coude à 90 est utilisé pour raccorder à angle droit deux morceaux de tuyaux de même taille. Remarque : tous les raccords utilisés pour les applications à travers la coque doivent être correctement reliés électriquement pour assurer la protection contre la corrosion électrolytique. Le DZR convient aux applications sous la ligne de flottaison à travers la coque.
